If you have seen Jase on the Duck Dynasty Boob tube testify, this book shows a very different perspective than the sarcastic one seen on the air. Jase is a funny guy but he is very serious well-nigh his personal faith in God. I was quite impressed with Jase's active, evangelistic faith and his relationship to God. He quotes many scriptures throughout the book and his preaching on Jesus and the gospel takes up a substantial portion of the text.
Overall, a very interesting, entertaining and inspiring book.

five. My husband and I went to Duck Commander concluding month for our anniversary. We didn't run across any duck men merely it was fun and fabricated me appreciate the books fifty-fifty more.

I would encourage young people to red this volume, because I call back there is a lot of wisdom for making adept choices early on. I loved this book and have already given a re-create away with plans to share it with other members of my family. I hope it'south a big seller ... and I think it would make a neat movie!

Good Phone call: Reflections on Faith, Family, and Fowl is a highly recommended collection of stories and observations on faith and his life by Jase Robertson (with Marker Schlabach) of Duck Dynasty fame.Skillful Phone call is an obvious choice for those who spotter and relish Duck Dynasty on A&E. Jase Robertson is the second oldest son and has worked for the family business, Duck Commander, for years. Jase also graduated from Bible college and worked in the ministry. This is his hazard to tell some stories (along with some comments from his wife, Missy) but, more importantly, share his deep faith in Christ. Obviously, as time has proven, information technology is easy for some people to make fun or look for faults in a person of faith, but I will e'er stand by his right to share his religion.
Actually, I don't spotter Duck Dynasty. I don't watch Television set much at all beyond news and conditions (online). I'thousand not a hunter either. My choice to have a review copy of Skillful Call may have some people past surprise... but not everyone. Kickoff, I strongly support the Robertson's correct to share their Christian religion and beliefs on their Boob tube show and at large. Second, I also grew up in a family with a father, often described as a human's man, who held fast to his strong, abiding faith, and hunting and fishing were a mutual part of everyday life.
It was from my own background that I could easily capeesh Jase'south stories. For goodness sakes, I had an uncle who played Christmas Carols on a duck phone call and we had to guess what he was playing. (Yes, he did a bully chore, and yes, we too could approximate the carols pretty quickly.) I am a Christian so I empathize Jase's faith and share that common bond with him. I value Jase's power to clearly explain his priorities in life, his faith, besides equally entertain us with his hunting and fishing stories.
You don't have to exist an outdoorsman to enjoy this book. Some readers might observe that they will appreciate Good Call more if they take a passing knowledge of the Robertson family and the testify Duck Dynasty. Certainly Christians will respond very favorably to Expert Call. I would gauge that at least some exposure to someone who is an avid hunter/fisher would help.

Just nigh all of the major stars of the Robertson Family on A&E's Duck Dynasty Series accept written a book to talk about their life and their journeying. We've seen books from Willie, Phil and Uncle Si. Now Jase is getting in on the publishing marketplace, sharing his incredible story of "success" - although not the success nosotros call back, even the success that might announced to us on Telly.Jase shares his story of faith and eternal goals. From the start folio, where he quotes scripture (and quotes it often throughout the book), Robertson is opening his heart to share the trials and triumphs of his own alive through the lens of religion. He recounts some hard years growing up, before his father found the Lord, and how his beloved for Jesus transformed him and made him who he is today. Along every portion of his life, Jase has put his faith offset - not simply applying it to his ain life, but living out his faith and ministering to others.
While I was aware that the Robertson family unit organized religion was a priority for their lives, this book completely caught me off baby-sit and surprised me. I had not read the other books, only have e'er enjoyed Jase'south unique way of looking at things on the testify. So I have been completely diddled away by chapter afterward chapter of his incredible story, his goals, and his continual pursuit in the up calling. Now don't misunderstand, the book is not a faith primer. Jase is sharing stories, lots of stories of family and friends, all your DD favorites, simply he's also showing the states that side of him that A&East never will - the thing he's most put his faith in - Jesus Christ.
Recommend for: Christians - both fans and non fans.

If you mix one part family memoir with two parts redneck bible written report and then drop the mixture into W Monroe, Louisiana, this is the volume y'all would get. The evangelical fervor here would be off-putting if information technology weren't so obviously sincere. Jase Robertson, like anybody else in the Duck Dynasty family, seems blessedly gratis of any pretensions. He's also an interesting man with a gift for remembering anecdotes, and a life rich plenty in experience to supply more than a few of them. The writing fashion throughout Skilful Phone call is conversational, every bit yous might expect if you've followed his exploits on reality Goggle box or duck hunting DVD. Robertson as well admits that he wrote near of the manuscript after midnight. The virtually annoying foible in the piece of work is that neither author nor co-writer seems to wield adverbs comfortably: There are at least two instances of forgiveness for slights that Robertson says he and his family "didn't take personal" rather than "personally."
Once I realized that a down-dwelling sermon would stand up as counterpoint to social commentary, childhood memory, hunting anecdote, and everything else in the book, I found Robertson'south unabashed Christianity refreshing, admitting in need of adjustment in the few areas where his unconscious Protestant bias shows. Despite his love of nature, for example, Robertson plainly has no apply for what educated Catholics call "sacramentals," such equally holy water. That doesn't make his theology of baptism unsound, only information technology does make it incomplete. The same might be said for his claim that "My belief system does not come from a religious denomination or creed. It comes from the Bible."
I'd love to sit at Phil and Kay's dinner tabular array with the whole Robertson family sometime and inquire Jase where he thinks the bible came from. And that'due south just information technology -- I'd frame things a trivial differently than Jase Roberton does, only I'd withal enjoy his company, as I did fifty-fifty in this lightweight only heartfelt book. Other Christians are likely to experience the same way, unless they're looking for memoirs of a higher literary pedigree.

"Missy and I baptized more than than 100 people in the start yr of our matrimony."
If you lot want to know more than nearly the 2d oldest of the Robertson boys you lot need to get this book. 1 more quote summarizes what Jase believes about the Bible.
"The Bible is not a rule book for life or a collection of fairy tales; it'southward a dear alphabetic character from God to humanity. Information technology's an introduction to Jesus Christ, who is God in human form. It declares to the earth: god is for y'all , not confronting you. To me, the Bible is a work of nonfiction cleaved into iii parts: from Genesis to Malachi, it'south virtually Jesus Christ coming to earth; from Matthew to John, it's about Jesus' life on earth; and from Acts to Revelation, it'due south about Jesus coming back to earth."

At last a book completed but a well read and written book indeed! This book was an amazing read. Jase is very open and well spoken well-nigh his life and his spirituality which might take some people by surprise. I know it did me. Jase is not what he appears. You lot can't gauge a book by information technology's cover nor can you estimate a person by their looks as I was reminded well-nigh many times reading this volume. This book makes you think about parenthood in a different light which makes you feel ameliorate about how y'all bargain with your own life. We aren't given an didactics manual on how to raise our children, we are learning every moment. We can only give information technology our all and work hard as i. To have faith in ourselves, in our strengths and in our weaknesses which give us strength. Jase is a family man. Jase had a difficult upward bringing with his dad withal stands by both his mom and dad and moved forrard through the past. His begetter Phil has come a long way and the whole family stands together as one as all families should. Jase has learned from past family troubles and fabricated his life positive. This is a not bad book for anyone to read. If y'all aren't into bible quotes don't be scared yous might actually like what yous read and information technology might open up some low-cal into your heart. Have faith, read about some nature trips and hunts, and lots of frogs besides. Make the Good Call and read this book. It will help you run across in new directions!

This volume fabricated me laugh, cry, and laugh some more and I even learned something.
Jase used to be shy, merely going to seminary helped him get over talking in public.
Some of the things he shares are very intimate, merely he also shares embarrassing things such as getting a ticket for speed Jase tells of his early on babyhood and how hard it was due to Phil's lifestyle. When Phil changed his life, (accepting Christ as his savior), information technology likewise improved the life of his family; making a huge touch on on Jase.

In that location are some funny stories about frog hunting as well every bit fishing, and duck hunting. Duck hunting is non Jase's favorite thing to hunt. He also shares how much work goes into taking care of the wild for the very few weeks that go into the duck weeks of hunting. He takes very seriously existence a steward of what God has given us; this planet called earth. He likewise takes seriously being an administrator of God.
I liked what he wrote about on pg. 225 well-nigh buzzards and I was not aware of their defense of projectile vomiting.

This book would be great ane to be read by a church grouping considering it tells yous the explanation of why the bible is real and how it applys to everyday life. The book is also very uplifting and encouraging. The book is too non that long and has a skilful total circle ending.
I would recommend this volume to anyone who needs encouragement. This book could be a course read if it was a Christian schoolhouse. The vocabulary is very creative and broad ranged so this volume would need to be read past a 6th or 7th grader is they would desire to become the full message. ...more

The closer nosotros wait at the Robertson family, the more we detect the substance and actuality beneath the surface of these well-known Goggle box characters. In this enlightening book, Jase Robertson gives us a deep expect backside his funnyman exterior.
